The compact footprint is the whole point: it is the fastest model to move through permitting and the fastest from breaking ground to handing over keys, which makes it the natural pick for a guest cottage, a first rental unit, or a landing spot for an aging parent who wants to be close without sharing a roof.

Small does not mean stripped down. The Bean carries the exact same Langone build spec as our largest models: an insulated monolithic slab foundation with full rigid insulation beneath it, 2x6 exterior walls wrapped in ZIP System sheathing, and R-23 walls with R-49 ceilings — a shell built for Maine and New Hampshire winters. Inside you get a Mitsubishi mini-split for efficient heat and cooling, on-demand hot water, granite countertops, hardwood cabinets, waterproof vinyl plank flooring, and pine tongue-and-groove on the walls and ceilings. Starlink internet setup and a smart thermostat are standard. In the lineup, The Bean sits $44,000 below The Newfield — the trade is square footage, never quality.
